About Fort St Angelo

Fort St. Angelo is a historic fortress located in the heart of the Grand Harbour, Birgu, Malta. Originally built by the Arabs and later expanded by the Knights of St. John, it played a pivotal role in the Great Siege of 1565, withstanding the Ottoman attack. The fort is a symbol of Malta's military heritage, offering stunning views of the surrounding harbor. Over centuries, it was modified by various rulers, including the British. Today, Fort St. Angelo is a UNESCO World Heritage site, open to visitors, showcasing Malta's rich history and maritime significance.
